Hear for the Holidays Winner Announced

Back in November, we launched our seasonal competition, Hear for the Holidays.

It gave one special person in Abilene the opportunity to win a pair of hearing aids and access to audiological care.

Our decision was based on the touching stories that were sent in by friends and family members who shared their story, explaining why they think they deserve to win and the impact this opportunity would have on their life.

After much anticipation, we announced the winner to all and invited them into the clinic for a fitting of their brand-new hearing aids.

This year, the lucky winner was brought to tears, as their family and friends surprised them with a party in their honor.

It was an emotional moment as they opened the doors to a room filled with people, ready to announce the news.

Our Hear for the Holidays Winner

Without further ado, the winner is…Ronda Davis!

Our Winner

Like many others hard of hearing, Ronda gets by her day to day through lip reading, which she uses to her advantage while directing a home school choir.

With music a strong passion, she is also a pianist and music therapist. However, her family recognized that her life would be enriched if she could hear better, so they shared her story, in the hopes it would gain recognition.

After reading her touching story, we couldn’t let Ronda go another day without a pair of hearing aids, so we gifted her with this special opportunity.

It was such an honor to be able to provide Ronda with this amazing opportunity, and we’d like to thank everyone who took part.

Ronda had this to say:

“Thank you to all the staff at Holland Hearing Center for the wonderful gift and to all my family and friends who nominated me. My heart is full!! I am so grateful for my new devices. My life has changed since I have received them! I am able to hear my piano students as they play and when they have questions. I am able to hear the high pitch notes in music and on the piano. I can not wait till my homeschool choir resumes from Christmas break and hear how they really sound! I was able to hear my oldest son whisper “I love you Mom” for the first time. I am able to hear the fullness of my youngest son’s voice. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to hear the beautiful sounds of life!”

As someone who spends their life giving back to others, we were grateful to provide her with this gift to allow her to enjoy hearing this holiday season.

Thank you to everyone who took part – we truly were in awe.

Do you know somebody that needs to see this? Why not share it?
