Tele Audiology appointment

The effects of the COVID-19 outbreak have been far-reaching. Everyone will know someone who’s either vulnerable or particularly at risk from this deadly pandemic.

To fight the spread of the virus, Governor Greg Abbot’s ordered citizens to “minimize non-essential gatherings and in-person contact,” restricting the mobility of millions of people.

But Holland Hearing is ensuring that irrespective of their circumstances, its patients still receive the excellent service that they’ve come to expect as standard.

The new ‘Tele Audiology’ option is a big part of this commitment. Instead of coming into a clinic, patients can now use smartphones and tablets to talk with expert doctors in the comfort of their homes.

During 15-minute appointments, those with concerns can receive important hearing health advice without needing to see an audiologist in person.

How does it work?

Tele Audiology makes use of technology that most people have in their homes – the capability to make a video call.

Now a standard feature on most computers, cell phones and tablets, video calling can completely alter the way audiologists speak to patients, especially when movements are prohibited.

With the ability to set up a confidential appointment via video-call, patients don’t have to re-arrange their schedule to make a personal meeting with a doctor.

Instead, they can choose a time that works for them and simply pick up their phone or turn on their computer at an agreed upon time.

Those who are worried about a possible hearing issue can arrange a no-obligation meeting with one of our professional audiologists. This will allow an opportunity to utilize professional guidance in getting a plan in place to customize their needs going forward and provide options to improve their hearing.

But those who currently have highly advanced hearing aids will also benefit. Audiologists can carry out remote adjustments to devices, and troubleshoot issues, based on a virtual conversation.

Holland Hearing hopes that all its patients remain safe during the crisis. We will be on hand whenever needed.
