This year has been a particularly hard year on so many of our community members, especially those who have a hearing loss.
Therefore, with the holidays approaching, the team at Holland Hearing wants to do something special and add some festive joy to someone’s life.
That’s why we are so excited to announce our brand-new competition, “Hear for the Holidays,” where one deserving person will receive a complimentary pair of hearing aids!
It’s our special way of letting someone give the gift of hearing to their loved one this holiday season and beyond.
How Can You Enter?
“Hear for the Holidays” runs through November. All you need to do is nominate someone who you feel could benefit from new technology.
It might be your friend, a loved one, or a co-worker with a hearing challenge. You can give them the chance to win this fabulous prize by completing a short form on our website. We just need a few details about your nominee and why they should be our winner.
The competition closes at the end of November, and shortly after, we’ll contact the deserving person to let them know that they’ve won this life-changing opportunity.
Following a comprehensive hearing assessment, they will be fit with their new devices, so they’re ready for the holidays. Good luck!
The lobby is now open along with our continued curbside service. Please be sure to wear your mask if you choose to wait in the lobby.
We will be closing early on November 25 (12:00 PM) and reopening on November 30. Kelsi is planning to spend Thanksgiving with her in-laws in Alpine, while Sue Ann will be spending time with her family.
Claudia, our office manager, is proud to share that her eldest son Jesse has enlisted into the army and is currently in basic training in Fort Bragg. We couldn’t be more proud of this young man. He is a polite, hard working young man, and we see great things in store for him in the future.
How Google is Making Life Safer for the Hard of Hearing
Google has recently introduced a fantastic way to get more out of your hearing aids’ and smartphone’s streaming features.
They’ve launched an accessibility feature that notifies wearers of nearby sounds that might require their attention
So if your Google smartphone hears the sounds of running water, a dog barking, or someone knocking on your door, it will alert you with a noise, vibration, or camera flash.
Additionally, the software can be linked to one of the company’s smartwatches.
As a statement from Google explained, the software is “designed for the estimated 466 million people in the world with hearing loss.”
We are very impressed that a company like Google has developed a feature to assist the hard of hearing.
